The Story of Us

Yesterday marked 7 years of marriage with the hubs! It seems crazy that 7 years have gone by!

When you celebrate an anniversary, do you find yourself going over the play-by-play of that day? I did it a lot yesterday. Things like "7 years ago at this hour, I was getting my hair done" etc. For some reason, it seemed to be going through my brain a lot more than usual. Perhaps because I discovered I remember very little about my wedding day.

I remember being all dressed up and ready to go, and waiting at the top of the hill, soaking all of it in, trying to savor the day before it passed too quickly.

I remember my heart racing when I started walking down the isle.

I remember 'checking out' my new husband all day, cause he looked so handsome in his tux!

I remember getting a few silent moments together walking while taking pictures.

I remember being anxious to leave to the hotel.

I don't remember many people, conversations exchanged, or even the speeches given. I've yet to see my wedding video, so the only recollection I have are these memories. I don't even remember a word spoken during the ceremony. What I remember are the swell of emotions I felt. I remember trying to remember. So I would never forget how incredibly lucky I am to have found a man that completes me. Through many ups and downs, those wedding day memories never let me forget how much I love this man.

Weight Loss Wednesday and a BIG announcement

It's been awhile since I've done Weight Loss Wednesdays. There are a couple reasons for that: First is my usual excuse, I'm so busy this summer I haven't really had time. I've still been working out, trying to keep on making good choices and it feels good because it's become part of my life now. It doesn't feel forced anymore to make healthy choices - most of the time, I prefer it.

Our anniversary is coming up this Monday (a whopping 7 years!) and I found a picture of the hubs and I on our anniversary last year, right before our date night. This picture was not long before that dreadful day when I reached my largest point:

Ugh. It hurts to look at. But as of a few weeks ago, I'd lost 32 pounds (and apparently shrunk a few inches!) and that girl is never coming back!  Here's the hubs and I now:

I know it's not a huge difference, but I can tell.

There's another reason Weight Loss Wednesdays have been on a break: This will be my last WLW post for awhile, so I'd been postponing it because I have to tell you why, which is also the exciting news I couldn't wait to share:

A few weeks ago, the hubs and I found out WE'RE EXPECTING!!!!!
(I guess your body is pretty fertile when you're in good shape! HA)

Baby #3 (aka 'peanut') is due to arrive Valentine's Day, 2011!

I've really had to adjust my mindset over the last few weeks as far as body image and weight loss is concerned. I am obviously no longer trying to lose weight. In fact, I've gained 4lbs, and I'm perfectly okay with that. I know I'm so much healthier now than I was with my first two pregnancies. I've cut back on my gym time so as not to over-do it, but I'm trying to maintain 3 days a week of moderate exercise. I feel confident I will be able to get right back on track after this baby comes and be able to complete my goal of losing 20 more pounds to my goal weight.

I will try not to turn this blog into pregnancy central, but I will at least keep friends and family updated. Here's me @ 4 weeks, when we found out:

I am now 9 weeks, and feeling pretty good. Hormones are everywhere and I'm feel more exhausted than ever before, but things are good. I will admit that I've been craving McDonalds (of all things! Probably because I've deprived myself of it for so long), but I'm trying to stay away! Here's our little peanut:

I'll update more later. I'm so excited to finally be able to share our news! I hate holding it in! =]

Summer Celebration

I FINALLY seem to have found the time to sit down and post about what I've been up to this summer! Well, I haven't done a whole lot, mostly working when I can, but I've managed to squeeze in some fun here and there. Example: my trip last weekend to Nashville.

We left Wednesday after work with Faith. Caleb stayed with Grandma for the weekend. About 10 hours later, we arrived at Lipscomb University for their Summer Celebration. We were leading worship for a couple morning sessions that weekend, and sang for some speakers. Also known as Acafest Weekend, we got to see/hear/meet/hang out with a bunch of former and current Acappella members. It was a great weekend that we got to spend with some of our best friends, who we also helped move last week. Saturday morning, we shipped off to Anderson, Indiana to help our friends load into their new house and lead worship with them Sunday morning as a welcome celebration on their first Sunday! It was A LOT of driving, but it was totally fun. And, I got some great pictures to prove it:

Yes, this is a real road! In Ohio:

Saw this plate at a Christian book store :"Have Faity?" I wonder why it's on sale?!?

The hubs found "The Canadian Tenors" and wondered why he wasn't invited to this group!

The family minus Caleb. We missed our Bubba:

Our sweet friends who just moved to Indiana. Love these two:

Queen Vee and Mr. King

Love this girl!:

My favorite fireworks: The sparkly ones

My admission photo for peopleofwalmart.com:

Oh wait! It gets better. Check out the cool sticker on the back (which was on BOTH sides of the vehicle):

Oh WAIT! It STILL gets better! This car is fully loaded -with umbrellas and a steel bat! Also please note the speakers attached on both sides. CLASSY:

What a great (and hilarious) trip!

Unfortunate events

Oh man, have I gotten lazy with posting. I promise my schedule has been jam-packed (even though I feel like I always say that). I have a few posts coming up that I'm VERY excited about sharing, but first things first:

1. Thank you to all of you who have offered up prayers for so many people that I love. Unfortunately, my Aunt Regina passed away last night after a very short (a few weeks) battle with lung cancer. Continue to pray for the family, especially her daughter, who is getting married in a few months. It's very sad for everyone. And they're way out in Wyoming now, so a lot of us won't be able to make it to the funeral. I know God has a plan and a seed has been planted for something beautiful to arise from this tragedy.

2. My sweet friend Sandy, who has been battling Lupus and now aggressive cancer is still in need of prayers as well. The good news is she has outlived her expiration date given by doctors, the bad news is her treatment didn't work. The cancer has grown and spread, and they're gearing up for more treatment. Please read about her incredible journey here.

3. Today, my grandma and cousin were rushed to UofM hospital for a broken hip and a burst appendix (separate incidences, obviously.)

I'm sorry that so many of my posts lately have been requests for prayer, but I'm grateful for all those who read, anyway. I promise I have other things to talk about very soon, even a few things I'm very excited to share. So bear with me!

God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
